Sustainability means much more to us than just an offer to our clients. Our understanding goes beyond the boundaries of our own departments to focus on responsible and future-oriented action. Alongside sustainable investment opportunities, we align ourselves as a company with ecological and social benchmarks.
The idea of sustainability weaves its way through our entire social engagement. The cooperation with Impact Hub Berlin is one example. This is where start-ups exchange ideas on how to make the world a better place. We cooperate with Impact Hub Berlin to promote young social enterprises - through know-how transfer in sustainability or by building an impact investor network. In return, this generates invaluable inspiration amongst our young, entrepreneurial clients and potential clients.
Another example is our cross-divisional and cross-departmental internal Sustainability Execution Board: it coordinates our bank’s sustainability activities and reports directly to the Executive Board.
Community engagement
The employees at our local branches get involved locally on Social Days by supporting charitable projects with their own personal, energetic help. Since 2013, we have been working with the social enterprise innatura: according to the motto "Donate instead of throwing away", it collects good-as-new but unsellable goods and distributes them to charitable organisations.
To us, sustainable action means taking responsibility. Based on this understanding of sustainability, we want to set standards that go far beyond the socially necessary minimum.
